Description: Enterasys Networks MIB for configuring NetFlow v5 export settings and interface-level flow collection on Enterasys switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ENTERASYS-NETFLOW-MIB?
This MIB is Enterasys' enterprise-specific module for configuring NetFlow v5 traffic export and mapping which physical interfaces have flow collection enabled. It exposes configuration data mapping ifIndex values to NetFlow export interfaces and export destinations, effectively bridging standard interface identification with Enterasys' flow-export subsystem. Though largely configuration-oriented, it supports monitoring by letting an operator confirm which interfaces are actively exporting flow records and verify that flow export configuration matches expectations, a useful software-configuration health check. It depends on the standard IF-MIB ifIndex convention for identifying network interfaces. It is typically deployed on Enterasys switches used for network traffic visibility and flow-based analytics, where ENTERASYS-NETFLOW-MIB SNMP monitoring confirms flow export configuration matches the intended uplinks.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ENTERASYS-NETFLOW-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Enterasys Networks switches
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll etsysNetflowExportIntfMapTable, keyed by etsysNetflowIfIndex, to confirm which interfaces have etsysNetflowExportInterface set, verifying flow export is enabled on the correct uplinks. Cross-referencing etsysNetflowIfIndexMapTable against the standard ifTable reveals if an interface expected to export NetFlow data is missing from the map, indicating a misconfiguration blocking traffic visibility for that link.
What Can Be Monitored
- NetFlow export interface mapping
- per-interface flow export enablement
- flow export destination configuration
