Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DTRConcentratorMIB?
DTRConcentratorMIB is an IBM-specific private MIB (under the ibm/ibmProd/ibm8272 branch) for managing Data Terminal Ready (DTR) concentrator devices, which aggregate and switch multiple Token Ring/serial-style connections such as IBM's 8272-series concentrators. It exposes device identity data (a unique MAC address), operational counts of configured ring segments (CRFs) and bridge relays, and a CRF table detailing port counts, port masks, ring names, and maximum information field size per ring segment. For hardware/software status monitoring, the concentrator's operational objects reveal how many ring segments and bridge relays are currently active, and the CRF-level port/name/size details help confirm each concentrator module is configured and reporting correctly — a mismatch or missing CRF entry signals a card or ring segment failure. As an IBM proprietary MIB it stands apart from IETF standards, though it models concepts analogous to standard Token Ring bridge/source-routing MIBs. It is typically deployed on IBM Token Ring concentrator hardware in legacy enterprise LAN environments. Engineers can download the DTRConcentratorMIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DTRConcentratorMIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- IBM 8272-series Token Ring DTR concentrator
Monitoring Examples
An admin would check dtrOperNumberOfCrfs and dtrOperNumberOfBridgeRelays to confirm the concentrator has the expected number of active ring segments and bridge relays after a reconfiguration. Walking dtrCRFTable/dtrCRFEntry by dtrCRFIndex reveals per-segment dtrCRFNumberOfPorts, dtrCRFPortMask, and dtrCRFName, letting an operator spot a ring segment that dropped ports or lost its name/config. The dtrConcentratorAddress object confirms the device's unique hardware identity when correlating alarms across a rack of concentrators.
What Can Be Monitored
- active ring segment (CRF) count
- active bridge relay count
- per-segment port count and port mask
- ring segment name/configuration
- concentrator hardware address

| ROU dtrFdbStaticRDRouteDesc | 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.66.1.3.1.1.1.3.5.1.2 | RouteDescriptor | read-only | Static Entries contain route descriptor information for internal Bridge Ports. These entries are added as part of the initialization of the DTR Concentrator when an internal bridge relay function is enabled (dtrOperNumberOfBridgeRelays=1) The Route Descriptor (RD) consists of 2 parts; a 4 bit Bridge Number and a 12 bit LAN ID. This identifies a bridge (BN) that has a port on the local LAN and a port connected to the indicated LAN ID. This object consists of 3 octets. The first octet contains the BN in the 4 least significant bits. The second octet contains the most significant octet of the LAN ID and the final octet contains the least significant 4 bits of the LAN ID in the 4 most significant bits of the octet. |
| ROW dtrFdbStaticRDRowStatus | 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.66.1.3.1.1.1.3.5.1.3 | RowStatus | read-write | Allows creation and deletion of static entries |

| INT dtrMRIMgmtType | 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.66.1.3.1.1.1.4.1.1.2 | INTEGER | read-only | Identifies the function class for this entry. The MRI forwards frames with a destination class equal to dtrMRIMgmtType using the corresponding mask entry (dtrMRIOutMask). Each octet within the value of this object specifies a set of eight ports, with the first octet specifying CRF Ports 1 through 8, the second octet specifying CRF Ports 9 through 16 and so on. Within each octet, the most significant bit represents the lowest numbered port, and the least significant bit represents the highest numbered port. |
