Category: Vendor: D-Link

Description: Manages Multi-Configuration Bank (MCB) features for storing and switching between device configurations on D-Link switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DLINK-MCB-MIB?

The DLINK-MCB-MIB is a D-Link proprietary MIB for the Multi-Configuration Bank (MCB) feature, used on D-Link media-converter chassis systems to manage multiple stored configurations and to monitor the health of the chassis and its media-converter modules. It exposes hardware/software/BIOS revision information for the administrator module, media-converter family and chassis identity, and a set of trap definitions covering power supply failure, fan failure, module plug-in/pull-out, link state changes, and active-slot changes. This MIB is squarely aimed at hardware and fault monitoring—power supply and fan health, module presence/insertion state, link up/down/broken conditions, and active-slot redundancy switchover—making it a fault-management-focused module for chassis-based media converter systems. It is a standalone D-Link enterprise MIB without notable dependency on external standard MIBs. It is typically deployed on D-Link media converter chassis (MC series) used to extend fiber/copper Ethernet links in campus or industrial networks, where DLINK-MCB-MIB SNMP monitoring flags power, fan, and module faults quickly.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DLINK-MCB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • D-Link media converter chassis (MC series)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would subscribe to mcbSNMPTrapPowerFail and mcbSNMPTrapFanFail to be alerted immediately of a power supply or cooling fan failure in the media converter chassis, and to mcbSNMPTrapMCPlugin/mcbSNMPTrapMCPullout to detect a media-converter module being inserted or removed unexpectedly. mcbSNMPTrapMCLinkDown/mcbSNMPTrapMCLinkBroken flag a failed fiber or copper link on a converter module, while mcbAdministratorHardwareRev/mcbAdministratorSoftwareRev/mcbAdministratorBiosRev let staff audit firmware versions across a fleet of chassis for update compliance.

What Can Be Monitored

  • power supply failure
  • fan failure
  • module plug-in/pull-out events
  • link up/down/broken state
  • active slot redundancy status
  • hardware/software/BIOS revision
