Description: Configures and monitors IP routing functions including static routes, routing tables, and forwarding on D-Link 3100 series switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DLINK-3100-IpRouter?
DLINK-3100-IpRouter is a vendor MIB (built on Radlan's embedded switch software, RND) for D-Link 3100 series switches, covering IP routing functions including static routes, RIP2 interface configuration, routing tables, and IP redundancy (VRRP-like) forwarding status. It exposes routing-protocol configuration and operational data: RIP2 interface settings (address, key-chain authentication, auto-send behavior), general RIP2 versioning, and an IP redundancy table showing the administrative and operational status of redundant routers along with their forwarding role. In monitoring terms this MIB is used to confirm that dynamic routing (RIP2) is correctly configured per interface and, importantly, that IP redundancy/failover is functioning correctly -- i.e., that the expected router holds the active/master role and standby routers are ready to take over -- rather than to report on temperature, CPU, or power supply status of the switch. It builds on the standard IETF RIP2-MIB conventions (adapted here as rsRip2Conf/rlRip2 objects) and on IF-MIB for interface indexing. It is typically deployed on D-Link 3100 series Layer 3 switches in enterprise networks requiring dynamic RIP2 routing with router redundancy for high availability. Engineers can download the DLINK-3100-IpRouter file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DLINK-3100-IpRouter. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- D-Link 3100 series Layer 3 switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll the rsRip2IfConfTable, indexed by rsRip2IfConfAddress, to check rsRip2IfConfAutoSend and rlRip2IfConfKeyChain settings per interface, confirming RIP2 is authenticated and advertising as expected. Separately, polling the ipRedundRoutersTable (via ipRedundRoutersEntry) and checking ipRedundAdminStatus against ipRedundOperStatus would reveal whether a redundant router pair is correctly synchronized -- a mismatch, such as operational status not matching administrative status, would indicate a failover has occurred or that standby redundancy has been lost. rlRip2AutoInterfaceCreation and rlRip2MibVersion would help confirm the RIP2 feature set and version active on the switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- RIP2 interface configuration/authentication
- RIP2 auto-send behavior
- IP redundancy admin/operational status
- redundant router table state

RFC description
D-Link private MIB for RIP2 and OSPF routing protocol extensions on IP routers.
Start monitoring D-Link 3100 series Layer 3 switch (RIP2/IP redundancy) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
