rsRip2IfConfAutoSend

Module: DLINK-3100-IpRouter

OID (symbolic): DLINK-3100-IpRouter::rsRip2IfConfAutoSend

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.10.94.89.89.26.3.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This variable controls RIP automatic send behavior. If enabled and no routers were heard on the interface, RIP will only send default route with high metric. Otherwise RIP will send updates according to configuration.

What is rsRip2IfConfAutoSend?

This read-write INTEGER enumeration (enable(1) or disable(2), defaulting to enable) controls whether a RIPv2-enabled interface automatically limits its route advertisements when no other RIP routers have been heard on that interface. Per the source, when enabled and no peers are detected the interface sends only a default route with a high metric instead of its full configured update set, which an administrator would use to reduce unnecessary broadcast traffic on links without active RIP neighbors. For example, disabling this object on an interface would force it to keep sending its normal full RIP updates regardless of whether any RIP routers are currently responding on that link.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DLINK-3100-IpRouter::rsRip2IfConfAutoSend

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.10.94.89.89.26.3.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DLINK-3100-IpRouter::rsRip2IfConfAutoSend.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.10.94.89.89.26.3.1.1.3.1 i <value>
