Description: L2 management MIB for D-Link DGS-3312SR stackable switch covering VLANs, STP, stacking, and L2 management features.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DGS3312SR-L2MGMT-MIB?
This is a D-Link proprietary Layer 2 management MIB for the DGS-3312SR, a stackable Layer 2/3 switch, covering VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, stacking, and other L2 switching features. Notably, alongside typical L2 configuration data it also exposes CPU utilization objects, giving direct visibility into the switch's control-plane software load. This makes the MIB useful for monitoring both configuration state (VLAN/STP/stacking) and hardware/software health, since sustained high CPU utilization can indicate a control-plane storm, STP flapping, or an overloaded management process. It depends on the switch's companion L3MGMT and system/product MIBs for a complete management picture, and conceptually parallels IEEE 802.1Q/802.1D bridging standards. It is deployed in enterprise environments where DGS-3312SR units are stacked together and monitored via an SNMP-based NMS, and this DGS3312SR-L2MGMT-MIB guide documents the relevant objects for that setup.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DGS3312SR-L2MGMT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- D-Link DGS-3312SR stackable Layer 2/3 switch
Monitoring Examples
Polling swL2CpuUtl5SecInfo, swL2CpuUtl1MinInfo, and swL2CpuUtl5MinInfo together lets an administrator see the switch's CPU load over short, medium, and longer windows -- a 5-second reading far above the 5-minute average would flag a transient event such as a broadcast storm or STP topology change, while the overview object swL2CpuUtlInfo gives a quick current snapshot. This is a concrete way to catch a switch whose management plane is being overwhelmed before it starts dropping SNMP or console sessions.
What Can Be Monitored
- CPU utilization (5-second average)
- CPU utilization (1-minute average)
- CPU utilization (5-minute average)
- VLAN configuration
- spanning tree state
- stacking status

In case of IGMP timer expiration, the switch sends IGMP query packets to related VLAN member ports and increment this object by 1. |
| swL2IGMPInfoTable | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.55.2.2.11.5 | not-accessible | The table containing current IGMP information which captured by this device, provided that swL2DevCtrlIGMPSnooping and swL2IGMPCtrlState of associated VLAN entry are all enabled. Note that the priority of IGMP table entries is lower than Filtering Table, i.e. if there is a table hash collision between the entries of IGMP Table and Filtering Table inside the switch H/W address table, then Filtering Table entry overwrite the colliding entry of IGMP Table. See swL2FilterMgmt description also. | |
| swL2IGMPInfoEntry | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.55.2.2.11.5.1 | not-accessible | Information about current IGMP information which captured by this device, provided that swL2DevCtrlIGMPSnooping and swL2IGMPCtrlState of associated VLAN entry are all enabled. | |
| INT swL2IGMPVid | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.55.2.2.11.5.1.1 | INTEGER | read-only | This object indicates the Vid of individual IGMP table entry. It shows the Vid of IGMP report information captured on network. |
| IP swL2IGMPGroupIpAddr | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.55.2.2.11.5.1.2 | IpAddress | read-only | This object is identify group ip address which is captured from IGMP packet, in per-Vlan basis. |
| MAC swL2IGMPMacAddr | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.55.2.2.11.5.1.3 | MacAddress | read-only | This object is identify mac address which is corresponding to swL2IGMPGroupIpAddr, in per-Vlan basis. |
| POR swL2IGMPPortMap | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.55.2.2.11.5.1.4 | PortList | read-only | This object indicates which ports are belong to the same multicast group, in per-Vlan basis. Each multicast group has a octect string to indicate with port map. The most significant bit represents the lowest numbered port, and the least significant bit represents the highest numbered port. Thus, each port of the switch is represented by a single bit within the value of this object. If that bit has a value of '1' then that port is included in the set of ports; the port is not included if its bit has a value of '0'(Note that the setting of the bit corresponding to the port from which a frame is received is irrelevant). The 4 octets is represent one unit port according its logic port. If the unit less 32 port, the other port don't care just fill zero. |
| INT swL2IGMPIpGroupReportCount | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.55.2.2.11.5.1.5 | INTEGER | read-only | This object indicate how much report packet was receive by our device corresponding with this entry from IGMP function enabled, in per-Vlan basis. |

| INT swL2TrafficCtrlBMStromthreshold | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.55.2.2.13.1.1.3 | INTEGER | read-write | This object to decide how much thousand packets per second broadcast/multicast (depend on swL2TrafficCtrlBcastStromCtrl, swL2TrafficCtrlMcastStromCtrl or swL2TrafficCtrlDlfStromCtrl objects whether is enabled) will active storm control. Whenever a port reaches its configured amount of packets in the one second time interval, the device will start dropping that type of packet, until the time interval has expired. Once the time interval has expired, the device will start forwarding that type of packet. |
