What Is DELLEMC-OS10-SMI-MIB?

The DELLEMC-OS10-SMI-MIB MIB is the Structure of Management Information module that defines the top-level OID root for Dell EMC's OS10 network operating system, used across Dell EMC's OS10-based switching platforms. As a pure SMI/registration module, it does not expose any managed objects, interface data, or environmental sensors itself. Its function is purely organizational: to establish the OID namespace under which the various OS10 feature MIBs (covering interfaces, environment, VLANs, etc.) are registered and can be located by management systems. There is no direct hardware or software status monitoring performed through this module; that occurs in the product-specific MIBs registered beneath its OID tree. It is deployed as a foundational component wherever Dell EMC OS10 switches (e.g., PowerSwitch series) are managed via SNMP.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DELLEMC-OS10-SMI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dell PowerSwitch S5248F-ON — data center leaf switch running SmartFabric OS10
  • Dell PowerSwitch Z9332F-ON — high-end spine switch, current OS10 hardware compatibility list

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only the OS10 enterprise OID root and has no sample objects, so there is nothing to poll directly. Actual monitoring of a Dell EMC OS10 switch's interfaces, environment, or hardware health would occur through separate OS10 feature MIBs registered under this root. As a registration-only SMI module, no monitoring scenario applies here.
