Description: Defines textual conventions used across Dell EMC OS10 networking MIB modules.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DELLEMC-OS10-TC-MIB?
DELLEMC-OS10-TC-MIB is a Dell EMC Networking OS10 support module that defines shared textual conventions (custom SNMP data types, enumerations, and syntaxes) used across the broader family of Dell EMC OS10 MIB modules. It exposes no monitorable data itself; instead it standardizes how other OS10 MIBs represent things like states, indices, and identifiers so that interface, environmental, and status data are encoded consistently. It therefore plays no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status on its own, but it is a foundational dependency that every OS10 status- and performance-reporting MIB relies on to decode correctly. Its entire purpose is to be imported by other Dell EMC OS10 MIB modules, making it a textbook conformance/support module rather than a data-bearing one. It is deployed as part of the full Dell EMC OS10 MIB bundle loaded by NMS tools managing Dell EMC PowerSwitch data center switches. Engineers can download the DELLEMC-OS10-TC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DELLEMC-OS10-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Dell EMC PowerSwitch / OS10 network switches
Monitoring Examples
As a pure textual-convention module, DELLEMC-OS10-TC-MIB defines no runtime objects or tables of its own, and its sample_objects list is empty for that reason. It supplies SYNTAX definitions consumed by other OS10 MIBs (e.g., interface, chassis, or environmental modules) rather than anything an administrator would poll directly. An SNMP toolchain simply needs this module loaded so that values reported by dependent Dell EMC OS10 MIBs render and decode correctly.
