Description: Manages BGP Monitoring Protocol (BMP) sessions and statistics for Dell Networking equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DELL-NETWORKING-BMP-MIB?
DELL-NETWORKING-BMP-MIB is a Dell Inc. (Dell Networking OS) proprietary MIB configuring Baremetal Provisioning (BMP), which auto-provisions a switch's configuration/firmware via DHCP/TFTP on first boot. Its objects cover reload type, auto-save flag, config-download setting, DHCP timeout, retry count, a user-defined string, and DHCP-relay/relay-remote-ID settings. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm BMP zero-touch-provisioning settings on a Dell Networking OS switch. It is deployed on Dell Networking OS (DNOS) switches. Engineers can download the DELL-NETWORKING-BMP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DELL-NETWORKING-BMP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Dell Networking OS (DNOS) switches
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks bmpDhcpTimeout and bmpConfigDownload to confirm zero-touch Baremetal Provisioning settings on a Dell Networking OS switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- Baremetal Provisioning (zero-touch) configuration
