What Is DATAFABRIC-MANAGER-MIB?
DATAFABRIC-MANAGER-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB for NetApp's DataFabric Manager (DFM), a centralized management application that monitors and administers NetApp storage systems across an enterprise. It exposes data about managed storage resources, events, and policy enforcement rather than a single device's raw hardware counters. Its monitoring value lies in surfacing aggregated hardware/software status across a storage estate: DFM-generated events typically reflect disk failures, volume/aggregate space issues, controller health, and job/task status collected from many managed filers, letting an admin monitor fleet-wide storage health from one interface. It depends conceptually on the underlying NetApp ONTAP/filer MIBs and SNMP data DFM collects from each managed storage controller. It's typically deployed in enterprise data centers as the central SNMP-manageable point for a NetApp storage management server overseeing many filers. Engineers can download the DATAFABRIC-MANAGER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
