What Is ChrTyp-MIB?
ChrTyp-MIB is a textual-conventions support module for Chromatis Networks' optical/DWDM networking equipment (Chromatis was acquired by Lucent), defining shared data types used across other Chromatis MIB modules. It contains no runtime data objects of its own, only type definitions intended for import by product-specific Chromatis MIBs. As a result it has no direct role in exposing hardware or software status such as optical signal levels or card health; that data is reported by the Chromatis MIBs that reference these conventions. It depends on standard SNMPv2-SMI/SNMPv2-TC conventions for its base type definitions. It's deployed as a supporting module alongside Chromatis/Lucent optical transport network elements. The ChrTyp-MIB OID itself carries no monitoring semantics; it exists solely to be imported so that type names stay consistent across the Chromatis MIB suite.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ChrTyp-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
