All MIBs › CNT23-MIB

Category: Fibre Channel and Storage, Vendor: CNT

Description: Provides management objects for CNT 2.3 series Fibre Channel switching and storage fabric components.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CNT23-MIB?

CNT23-MIB is a private MIB (enterprise OID 333) reporting SNMP subagent registration activity under the CNT2-MIB extensible-agent framework. Its registration table, keyed by registration index, records the registering subagent's slot, protocol, transport, textual description, managed object group, and the MIB version it implements, alongside a running count of total registrations received. As a software-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm which subagents (and MIB versions) are currently registered with the master SNMP agent, useful when diagnosing a missing MIB module after an agent restart. It is deployed on platforms using a CNT2-style extensible SNMP master/subagent architecture. Engineers can download the CNT23-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CNT23-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Platforms using a CNT2-style extensible SNMP master/subagent architecture

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks cnt2RegistrationTable after an agent restart to confirm all expected subagents have re-registered, explaining why a particular MIB's objects are (or aren't) currently reachable.

What Can Be Monitored

  • registered subagent list and total registration count
