sysUseUtcLeapOffsetEnable

Module: CM-SYSTEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-SYSTEM-MIB::sysUseUtcLeapOffsetEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.2.1.5.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This attribute indicates whether to use the currentUtcLeapOffset in Announce message from PTP to get UTC time from TAI based timestamps in case we want DM/TWAMP timestamping based on UTC time. This attribute only works when PTP/TimeClock is configured as source of system time of day.

What is sysUseUtcLeapOffsetEnable?

This TruthValue determines whether the system applies the currentUtcLeapOffset carried in PTP Announce messages to convert TAI-based PTP timestamps into UTC time, specifically for DM/TWAMP timestamping, and only takes effect when PTP is the configured time source. An admin enables this when delay-measurement or TWAMP timestamps must be reported in UTC rather than raw TAI time. For example, an operator running TWAMP tests across a PTP-synchronized network would enable sysUseUtcLeapOffsetEnable so the measured timestamps align with UTC-based reporting used elsewhere in the network.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CM-SYSTEM-MIB::sysUseUtcLeapOffsetEnable

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.2.1.5.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CM-SYSTEM-MIB::sysUseUtcLeapOffsetEnable.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.2.1.5.6.1 s <value>
