autoProvMode
Module: CM-SYSTEM-MIB
OID (symbolic): CM-SYSTEM-MIB::autoProvMode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.2.1.5.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This provides ability to manage the Auto Provisioning Mode on the system. If the auto provisioning mode is 'off', auto discovery is disabled. Network Elements (shelves) need to be manually configured from the user interfaces. If the auto provisioning mode is 'confirm', Network Elements (shelves) are auto discovered, however, they need to be accepted explicitly from user interfaces to be managed. If the auto provisioning mode is 'auto', Network Elements (shelves) are auto discovered and auto provisioned, as permanent, in the system.
What is autoProvMode?
This INTEGER selects how the system handles automatic discovery of Network Elements (shelves): off(1) disables auto discovery entirely and requires manual configuration, while confirm(2) auto-discovers elements but requires explicit acceptance before they are managed. An admin sets this depending on how much hands-off automation versus manual control they want over newly connected shelves. For example, a technician staging a new site might leave autoProvMode at confirm(2) so newly cabled shelves show up for review but aren't automatically brought under management until explicitly accepted.
