This PerfCounter64 counts Far End Severely Errored Seconds encountered by the SONET/SDH STS/VC Path in the current bin, as reported back by the remote path-terminating equipment. An admin uses this live far-end value to see whether the remote receiver is currently suffering path-layer errors that the near end's own counters would never reveal. If stsVcPathFarEndStatsSESs is climbing in the current bin while the near-end stsVcPathStatsSESs for the same path stays at zero, the admin would focus troubleshooting on the transmit path toward the remote node.
