What is ocnStmHistorySectionCVs?
This PerfCounter64 counts Coding Violations encountered by a SONET/SDH Section during the history bin, i.e. section-layer BIP-8 parity mismatches. Section CVs give an admin the most granular bit-error signal available on the interface, useful for trending optical margin degradation long before it turns into declared errored seconds. Watching ocnStmHistorySectionCVs rise gradually bin over bin on a specific STM-1 port, even with SESs still at zero, gives the admin lead time to schedule an optical power check before the fault becomes service-affecting.
