It gives an administrator visibility into inbound multicast load on the bonded link, useful when diagnosing whether a downstream multicast subscriber issue stems from insufficient traffic arriving in the first place. For example, a flat cmLagStatsESMP during a reported video-stream outage would point away from the LAG and toward a problem further downstream.
