cmFlowThresholdCrossingAlert

Module: CM-PERFORMANCE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-PERFORMANCE-MIB::cmFlowThresholdCrossingAlert

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.5.2.3

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: This trap is sent each time a threshold on a PM condition on an Ethernet Flow is crossed.

What is cmFlowThresholdCrossingAlert?

This object represents a notification (trap) that fires each time a performance threshold on a monitored Ethernet flow is crossed, either rising above or falling below the configured limit. The trap includes details about which threshold, interval, and variable triggered the alert. An operator would configure threshold values and receive these alerts to detect performance problems and operational anomalies in monitored flows automatically.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' CM-PERFORMANCE-MIB::cmFlowThresholdCrossingAlert
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.5.2.3

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:54500->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (132480740) 15 days, 8:00:07.40
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: CM-PERFORMANCE-MIB::cmFlowThresholdCrossingAlert

SNMPv3 example:

snmptrap -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3user -a SHA -A "AuthPass1" -x AES -X "PrivPass1" <manager> '' CM-PERFORMANCE-MIB::cmFlowThresholdCrossingAlert
