Module: CM-PERFORMANCE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-PERFORMANCE-MIB::cmFlowPointHistoryNumLearnTableFlushes

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.5.1.26.1.34

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: PerfCounter64

Access: read-only

Description: The number of learning table flushes.

What is cmFlowPointHistoryNumLearnTableFlushes?

This read-only PerfCounter64 counts how many times the MAC address learning table associated with this flow point was flushed during the interval. Frequent flushes matter to an administrator because they force the flow point to relearn source MAC addresses via flooding, which can cause transient traffic loss or duplication until addresses are relearned. For example, a spike in cmFlowPointHistoryNumLearnTableFlushes correlating with reports of brief connectivity blips would point toward a topology change or protection switch repeatedly clearing the learning table.
