What is cmEthernetTrafficPortHistoryTemp?
This object records the temperature of the port's optical transceiver during the archived historical interval, applicable only when the port's media type is fiber. A historical trend of rising transceiver temperature warns the admin of a cooling or environmental problem that could shorten optic lifespan or eventually cause instability. For example, if a fiber port in a poorly ventilated cabinet has been intermittently dropping, the admin would review cmEthernetTrafficPortHistoryTemp to see if transceiver temperature has been running abnormally high.
