An admin uses the size buckets together to read the traffic mix on a port, since many small frames load the forwarding engine differently than the same bandwidth carried in large frames. If cmEthernetNetPortStatsESP1519 makes up roughly 37% of all frames on network (uplink) port 11 during the interval, an operator sizing that port's packet-per-second budget knows to plan around a traffic mix skewed toward this frame-size band, not just its raw bit rate.
