This PerfCounter64 counts xDSL downstream packets on an Ethernet network port's DSL line in the history bin. An admin trends historical downstream packet volume to establish a usage baseline useful for detecting an unexplained drop-off in service to a customer over time. If cmEthernetNetPortHistoryXdslDsPkt falls sharply starting from a particular history bin and stays low afterward, the admin correlates that bin's timestamp with any known network change made around the same time.
