hrfslastfullbackupdate

Module: CLJ8500-MIB

OID (symbolic): CLJ8500-MIB::hrfslastfullbackupdate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.3.3.8.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: The last date at which this complete file system was copied to another storage device for backup. This information is useful for ensuring that backups are being performed regularly. If this information is not known, then this variable shall have the value corresponding to January 1, year 0000, 00:00:00.0, which is encoded as (hex)'00 00 01 01 00 00 00 00'. Refer to RFC 1514, Host Resources MIB, for more details. Additional information: Constant. The default value is the value defined to represent an unknown time of January 1, year 0000, 00:00:00.0. Returns status if attempting to perform a Get on this OID with no mass storage device installed or if the file system has not been initialized.

What is hrfslastfullbackupdate?

This read-only octet string would report the date the entire file system on the printer's storage device was last backed up to another device, encoded in the RFC 1514 date-time octet format, defaulting to the January 1, year 0000 placeholder value when no backup information is tracked. On a printer this is really a vestige of the generic Host Resources MIB rather than a feature the CLJ8500 actively uses, since printers do not typically run scheduled backups of their internal disk. An admin who reads hrfslastfullbackupdate and sees that all-zero placeholder date would correctly conclude no backup has ever been recorded for this device, not that one is overdue by centuries.
