Category: Device Management, Vendor: RADLAN/Cisco SB
Description: Marks the end of Cisco Small Business MIB OID registration tree as a sentinel object.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCOSB-ENDOFMIB-MIB?
CISCOSB-ENDOFMIB-MIB is a trivial Cisco Small Business private MIB whose sole purpose is to mark the terminal/sentinel OID at the end of the vendor's private MIB registration tree. It exposes a single object, rndEndOfMib, with no operational or configuration meaning. It provides no monitoring capability for hardware or software status; it exists purely as a structural bookkeeping placeholder used internally by MIB compilers/tooling. It has no functional dependency on other MIBs beyond the enterprise OID hierarchy it terminates. It appears on Cisco Small Business devices simply as an artifact of the vendor's MIB tree layout, not something an administrator would query for status. Engineers can download the CISCOSB-ENDOFMIB-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCOSB-ENDOFMIB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco Small Business switch/router
Monitoring Examples
This module contains no runtime monitoring objects of practical value—rndEndOfMib is a static sentinel scalar with no real data to poll, so there is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe.
