This read-write value designates an Ethernet or LAG interface whose IP address should be advertised in the CDP address TLV instead of the address of whichever interface actually sends the CDP packet, with 0 meaning no source interface is configured. An admin sets it when they want CDP neighbors to always see a stable management address regardless of which physical link CDP goes out on. For example, an admin could point this at a management VLAN interface so all CDP neighbors report the same consistent management IP even if CDP frames egress different physical ports.
