cXgcpMediaGwUndottedNotation

Module: CISCO-XGCP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-XGCP-MIB::cXgcpMediaGwUndottedNotation

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.318.1.2.1.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object enables/disables the undotted notation for CODEC.

This object is used to set CODEC notation to 'dotted' or 'undotted' in SDP between the gateway and the call agent. For example, 'G.726' is 'dotted', while 'G726' is 'undotted'.

If it is set to 'true', then the 'undotted' notation for CODEC is enabled.

What is cXgcpMediaGwUndottedNotation?

This read-write TruthValue enables or disables 'undotted' CODEC notation in SDP exchanged between the gateway and the call agent, for example sending 'G726' instead of 'G.726' when set to true. Admins care because some call agents strictly expect one notation format and will fail to parse the other, breaking codec negotiation. For example, if SDP negotiation fails against a call agent that expects codec names without periods, an admin would set this object to true.
