cXgcpMediaGwPiggybackMsg
Module: CISCO-XGCP-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-XGCP-MIB::cXgcpMediaGwPiggybackMsg
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.318.1.2.1.1.15
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: This object enables/disables the piggyback message generating. If the piggyback message generating is enabled, a call agent can send several MGCP messages in the same UDP packets to the gateway.
What is cXgcpMediaGwPiggybackMsg?
This read-write TruthValue enables or disables piggyback message generation, which when enabled allows the call agent to send several MGCP messages together within the same UDP packet to the gateway. Admins care because piggybacking can reduce the number of UDP packets exchanged during busy signaling periods, which may help on constrained links but requires gateway support to parse correctly. For example, an admin trying to reduce UDP packet overhead on a heavily loaded MGCP trunk might enable this object if both ends support it.
