Description: This object is used to enable the Forward Error Correction (FEC) for UDP-based fax transport.

This object is not applicable if cxeCallCtrlT38Inhibited is set to 'true'.

What is cxeCallCtrlT38FecEnabled?

This read-write TruthValue enables Forward Error Correction for UDP-based T.38 fax transport, and only takes effect when T.38 is not inhibited. FEC lets the receiving gateway reconstruct fax data lost to packet drops without needing retransmission, which matters on lossy IP paths where fax integrity would otherwise suffer. For example, an admin seeing frequent fax transmission errors over a congested WAN link might enable this object to improve fax reliability without changing the underlying network.
