Category: SNMP Framework, Vendor: Cisco Devices

Description: Defines agent capability statements for Cisco VISM SRCP protocol resource coordination.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-WAN-VISM-SRCP-CAPABILITY?

This is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that formally declares which parts of the CISCO-WAN-SRCP-MIB (a Simple Resource Coordination Protocol MIB used by VISM WAN modules) a given agent implementation supports, rather than defining any runtime data objects itself. As a capability statement, it does not expose interface, environmental, or performance data; it exists purely to describe implementation conformance for management-station compatibility checking. Because it has no data objects, it plays no role in monitoring hardware or software status directly. It is entirely dependent on CISCO-WAN-SRCP-MIB, whose object groups and compliance statements it references. It is used in Cisco MGX/VISM WAN switching deployments purely as metadata consumed by network management systems during capability negotiation, not for operational monitoring. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-WAN-VISM-SRCP-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-WAN-VISM-SRCP-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco MGX WAN switches with VISM modules

Monitoring Examples

This module contains no runtime data objects (sample_objects is empty), as it is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module only, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; its sole function is to declare which object groups of CISCO-WAN-SRCP-MIB the agent implements.
