Module: CISCO-VISM-SVC-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-SVC-MIB::vismSvcAtmQosCdv

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.5.19.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: End-to-end cell delay variation used in voice SVC establishment. It is used to guarantee the quality of the route selected for a voice SVC. It is applicable to both AAL1 and AAL2 SVC connection establishment. The value specified to this object is in 'micro-seconds'. This value is sent in voice SVC setup messages in extended quality of services information element as the objective value.

What is vismSvcAtmQosCdv?

This read-write Integer32 (500-20000 microseconds) sets the end-to-end cell delay variation objective used when establishing voice SVCs, applicable to both AAL1 and AAL2, and is sent in the setup message's extended QoS information element. An admin cares because this value shapes ATM route selection to guarantee acceptable jitter for voice quality on the selected SVC route. For example, an operator deploying VISM for latency-sensitive voice over a shared ATM network would tighten this CDV objective to favor routes with lower jitter.
