vismXgcpBearerVCType

Module: CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB::vismXgcpBearerVCType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.3.17.4.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object specifies the VC(Virtual Channel) type to use in order to transport bearer traffic.

If the call agent specifies the VC type in the MGCP local connection options (CRCX request), then the configuration of this object will have no effect, else the value of this object will be used when sending CRCX response.

What is vismXgcpBearerVCType?

This read-write INTEGER selects whether bearer traffic on a VISM gateway rides over a permanent virtual channel (pvc) or a switched virtual channel (svc). An administrator cares because it establishes the default ATM connection type used when the call agent's CRCX request omits this detail, directly affecting how bandwidth is provisioned per call. For instance, a carrier running a static ATM backhaul with fixed circuits would leave this set to pvc(1) rather than letting calls dynamically signal svc(2) connections.
