Description: This attribute sets the payload type of a RTP packet carrying SID(Silence Insertion Descriptor) which is sent to the other end when silence is detected. The default value is in accordance to RFC-3551.

What is vismVoIpSIDPayloadType?

This read-write Integer32 (0..255) sets the RTP payload type used for the SID (Silence Insertion Descriptor) packet sent to the far end when silence is detected, defaulting to the value specified in RFC 3551. Getting this payload type to match what the far end expects is necessary for comfort-noise generation to work correctly during silence suppression. For example, if a far-end device isn't generating comfort noise correctly during silent periods, an admin would check whether vismVoIpSIDPayloadType matches the value that far end expects for SID packets.
