vismVoIpEventNegotiationPolicy
Module: CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB::vismVoIpEventNegotiationPolicy
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.3.17.2.16
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This attribute defines whether or not the VISM should advertise the event codecs, NSE, NTE, or Cisco-rtp, in addition to the list of events specified by the call agent.
If the value is 'none', then VISM will not include any more event codecs than what has been specified by the call agent.
If the value is 'proprietary', then VISM can advertise proprietary event codecs in addition to the event codecs specified by the call agent.
If the value is 'all', then VISM can advertise both proprietary as well as standard event codecs in addition to the event codecs specified by the call agent.
What is vismVoIpEventNegotiationPolicy?
This read-write INTEGER controls whether VISM advertises additional event codecs (NSE, NTE, or Cisco-rtp) beyond what the call agent specified: none (only what the call agent listed), proprietary (adds Cisco-specific codecs), or all. This affects interoperability, since advertising extra event codecs the far end doesn't understand could cause negotiation problems, so an admin picks the policy matching what the connected equipment supports. For example, when interoperating strictly with a non-Cisco call agent, an admin would set vismVoIpEventNegotiationPolicy to none to avoid advertising Cisco-proprietary event codecs that the far end wouldn't recognize.
