vismCarrierLossPolicy
Module: CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB::vismCarrierLossPolicy
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.3.17.4.18
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object defines the policy that needs to be applied when a carrier loss is detected.
This states whether to switch to the pre-upspeed codec or to remain with the upspeed codec.
This object is applicable in case of SVCs. This object will be applicable in case of PVC if the per PVC object - vismChanCarrierLossPolicy (defined in vismChanCacTable) is set to 'unspecified'.
Configuring this object will not have any affect when card level CAC is disabled (vismCacEnable).
What is vismCarrierLossPolicy?
This read-write INTEGER defines whether VISM reverts to the previousCodec or stays on the upspeedCodec when a carrier loss is detected on an SVC bearer connection. An admin cares because this policy determines whether a degraded-signal call automatically downgrades away from an upspeeded codec or keeps running at the higher bandwidth codec despite the fault. For example, on a link prone to intermittent carrier loss, an operator might set this to previousCodec(1) so calls fall back to the safer pre-upspeed codec rather than persisting on upspeedCodec.

Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.3.17.4.18.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB::vismCarrierLossPolicy.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.3.17.4.18.1 i <value>
