Description: This object is used to provision the bitmask used for the TOS octet for cells carrying VoIP bearer RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol) traffic. Default value 160 = 0xA0 => Precedence = 5 and TOS nibble = 0 The bitmask can be only a byte value.
What is vismBearerTos?
This read-write Integer32 (0..255) provisions the Type of Service bitmask used for cells carrying VoIP bearer RTP traffic, defaulting to 160 (0xA0, precedence 5). A higher default precedence than the control TOS reflects that real-time voice media is typically prioritized even more aggressively for QoS purposes, which an admin can adjust to match network policy. For example, in a network with strict QoS marking requirements, an admin would set vismBearerTos to match the expected DSCP/precedence marking so RTP voice packets receive proper prioritized handling end-to-end.
