vismBearerContinuityTimer

Module: CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB::vismBearerContinuityTimer

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.3.17.4.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object specifies the co4 (bearer continuity) timer in millisecs.

The timer will be started in the terminating/originating gateway for a duration as specified in this MIB object when a co3 message is sent from the terminating/originating gateway to the originating/terminating gateway.

If the terminating/originating gateway does not receive co4 as an acknowledgement from the originating/termintaing gateway and the timer expires, gateway initiated DLCX is sent to the call agent from the terminating/originating gateway.

This object is applicable when the call agent feature is available.

What is vismBearerContinuityTimer?

This read-write Integer32 (0-10000) sets, in milliseconds, how long a terminating or originating gateway waits for a co4 acknowledgment after sending a co3 bearer continuity message. An admin cares because if the co4 response does not arrive within this window, the gateway concludes the continuity test failed, which affects whether a call is allowed to proceed. For example, a network engineer troubleshooting frequent call setup failures might lengthen this timer to accommodate a WAN link with higher round-trip latency between originating and terminating VISM gateways.
