Description: This attribute defines the time (millisecs) to wait for filling up the cell when the next packet is not ready.
After waiting for the time configured in this object, the cell will be sent out. This timer has no effect when vismAal2SubcellMuxing is disabled.
This object is applicable only for AAL2 adaptations.
What is vismAal2CidFillTimer?
This read-write Integer32 (5-100 milliseconds) sets how long VISM waits to fill an AAL2 cell when the next packet isn't ready before sending the cell out anyway, and it only has effect when vismAal2SubcellMuxing is enabled, applying solely to AAL2 adaptations. An admin cares because this timer trades off cell-fill efficiency against added latency: waiting longer improves fill ratio but delays transmission. For example, an operator prioritizing lower voice latency over maximum cell efficiency on a multiplexed AAL2 connection would shorten this fill timer toward the low end of its 5-100ms range.
