vismAal2CasTransport
Module: CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-MODULE-MIB::vismAal2CasTransport
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.3.17.6.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: This attribute defines whether the CAS bits need to be transported to the other endpoint. In the case of switching application, the CAS bits are backhauled to the Call Agent through xGCP-CAS protocol.
The value in this object will be utilized when the call agent does not specify this in CRCX.
What is vismAal2CasTransport?
This read-write TruthValue determines whether CAS (Channel Associated Signaling) bits are transported to the other endpoint, applying only when the call agent does not specify this behavior in the CRCX request, and in switching applications CAS bits are instead backhauled to the call agent via xGCP-CAS. An admin cares because CAS transport is needed for legacy signaling interworking on channels that rely on in-band CAS bits rather than xGCP-CAS backhaul. For example, an operator connecting to equipment that expects CAS bits carried directly in the AAL2 stream would set this to true rather than relying on xGCP-CAS backhaul.
