Description: The indicates Music On Hold Threshold in dBm. Based on this value, VISM DSP will interprete the incoming signal from TDM side as either silence or voice, and consequently turn on or off VAD.
This object can be set when there is active call going on at the ds0 channel, and at both unbound endpoints and bound non-active endpoints.
What is ds0MusicThreshold?
This Integer32 (-70..-30), in dBm, sets the Music-On-Hold threshold VISM's DSP uses to decide whether incoming TDM audio is silence or voice, which in turn controls whether Voice Activity Detection (VAD) turns on or off. Getting this threshold right matters because hold music misclassified as silence would get suppressed by VAD, cutting off the music the caller is meant to hear. For example, if callers placed on hold report choppy or cut-off music, an admin would check whether ds0MusicThreshold is set too low, causing VAD to intermittently mute the music signal.
