ds0IdleCode

Module: CISCO-VISM-DSX0-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-DSX0-MIB::ds0IdleCode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.4.7.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object contains the code transmitted in the ABCD bits when the ds0 is not connected and ds0TransmitCodesEnable is enabled. The object is a bitmap and the various bit positions are: Bit 0 (value 1) D bit Bit 1 (value 2) C bit Bit 2 (value 4) B bit Bit 3 (value 8) A bit This object is useful for ds0 conditioning to be done if an alarm condition is detected from the network side. DS0 conditioning is implemented in the trunking application only.

This object is not applicable in the CAS backhaul application.

From vism 2.0.3 release onwards this object can be configured in any mode, but will be applicable only in trunking application and will be ignored in other applications.

What is ds0IdleCode?

This Integer32 (0..15) is a 4-bit bitmap (D, C, B, A bits) defining the ABCD code transmitted on this DS0 when it is idle (not connected) and ds0TransmitCodesEnable is on. Setting this idle code correctly is important for DS0 conditioning, letting the card signal a defined state toward the network when an alarm condition is detected, rather than leaving the line in an ambiguous state. For instance, an admin might set a specific idle pattern here so that when a channel goes unused, downstream equipment correctly interprets it as idle rather than mistaking it for an active but silent call.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.4.7.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VISM-DSX0-MIB::ds0IdleCode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.4.7.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VISM-DSX0-MIB::ds0IdleCode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.4.7.1.1.3.1 i <value>
