Module: CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB::vismMaxCost

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.5.3.1.1.1.20

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Description: Maximum allowed cost. It is related to Cost Based Routing. This is used by PXM so that it won't choose a path with a cost greater than this configured level. This is not necessary to be provided in the connection setup request.

What is vismMaxCost?

This read-write Integer32 object (1-2147483647) sets the maximum allowed cost related to Cost Based Routing, used by PXM to avoid choosing a path with a cost greater than this configured level, and it's not necessary to provide in the connection setup request. This gives an admin a way to cap how expensive (by whatever cost metric PXM uses) a routed path can be for this connection, preventing it from being routed over an undesirably costly path. An engineer with a cost-sensitive connection would explicitly set this object to constrain PXM's path selection rather than leaving it to PXM's default behavior.
