Module: CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB::vismLocalNSAP

What is vismLocalNSAP?

This read-write OCTET STRING object (20 bytes) holds the local NSAP address, structured as a 13-byte prefix, 2-byte Cisco ID, 1 reserved byte, 3 bytes for slot and port number, and 1 byte for the selector. This encoding embeds the physical slot and port location directly into the NSAP address, letting an admin decode a connection's physical origin straight from this field. An engineer decoding an unfamiliar NSAP address during a connection audit would parse out the slot and port bytes to identify exactly which physical location the connection originates from.
