Module: CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB::vismChanScrIngress

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.5.3.1.1.1.30

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object identifies the SCR (Sustained Cell Rate) for the PVC in the ingress direction. SCR is used for vbr connection types only. Traffic shaping is not done on the VISM card, this value is useful for setting up the parameters for the end-to-end PVC. This value is expressed in units of cells per second.

If the user provides a value that is greater than vismConnPCR then the SET request will be rejected.

For vbr connections the allowed range of values of SCR is from 15 - PCR.

What is vismChanScrIngress?

This read-write Integer32 object (1-100000), in cells-per-second, identifies the Sustained Cell Rate for the PVC in the ingress direction, applicable only to VBR connection types; VISM does not perform traffic shaping itself, but this value is used for setting up parameters on the end-to-end PVC, and a SET request is rejected if this value exceeds vismConnPCR. Since VISM doesn't enforce shaping locally, this value's real function is informing the ATM network's own shaping and admission control about the expected sustained rate for this VBR connection. An engineer configuring a VBR connection would ensure this SCR value stays below the configured PCR, since the agent will reject the SET otherwise.
