vismChanMbsIngress

Module: CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB::vismChanMbsIngress

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.5.3.1.1.1.31

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object defines the MBS (Max. Burst Size). This object is meaningful for VBR connections only.

This object defines the MBS value for the ingress direction of the PVC. The MBS value cannot be greater than 10 times vismChanScrIngress value.

What is vismChanMbsIngress?

This read-write Integer32 object (1-2147483647), in cells-per-second (per the MIB's stated units), defines the Maximum Burst Size for the ingress direction of a PVC, meaningful only for VBR connections, and the value cannot exceed 10 times vismChanScrIngress. This burst allowance defines how far above the sustained rate a VBR connection can briefly spike before the network's shaping or policing considers it out of profile. An engineer provisioning a VBR connection with bursty voice traffic patterns would set this value up to the 10x SCR ceiling to accommodate legitimate traffic spikes without triggering policing.
