Module: CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VISM-CONN-MIB::vismChanLocRmtLpbkState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.5.3.1.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Loopback on cellbus in egress direction.

'enable (1)' : When you enable this option on a connection (channel) then all the cells that are coming from the network side would be looped back toward the network and all the frames coming from the user side would be dropped.

'disable (2)': disables the remote loopback for a channel.

What is vismChanLocRmtLpbkState?

This read-write INTEGER object enables or disables a remote loopback on the cellbus in the egress direction, where enabling causes cells from the network side to be looped back toward the network while frames from the user side are dropped. This is a diagnostic tool for testing network-side connectivity in isolation, since it deliberately discards user-side traffic while looping network traffic back. An engineer testing whether a network-side ATM path is functioning correctly would enable this loopback temporarily, understanding that user traffic will be dropped during the test.
