Category: Cisco Devices, RADIUS and AAA, SNMP Framework, VPN and Security

Description: Declares agent capabilities for TrustSec server (ISE/ACS) communication and credential management.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-TRUSTSEC-SERVER-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-TRUSTSEC-SERVER-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that declares which parts of the companion CISCO-TRUSTSEC-SERVER-MIB are implemented by SNMP agents managing communication with TrustSec policy servers such as Cisco ISE or ACS. It documents supported object groups related to server connectivity and credential/authentication-key management for the TrustSec control plane, without itself holding runtime values. As a conformance module it exposes no monitorable status directly; it instead informs a management station which TrustSec-server objects and groups it can expect a given agent implementation to support. It depends entirely on CISCO-TRUSTSEC-SERVER-MIB, whose object support it constrains. It is used during NMS/agent compliance verification for Cisco switches and routers participating in a TrustSec security domain rather than for routine operational polling. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-TRUSTSEC-SERVER-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-TRUSTSEC-SERVER-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco switch/router participating in TrustSec (with ISE/ACS integration)

Monitoring Examples

This is a conformance (AGENT-CAPABILITIES) module and defines no runtime data objects of its own, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it only asserts which groups of CISCO-TRUSTSEC-SERVER-MIB (covering TrustSec server connectivity and credential management) a given agent implementation supports.
