Category: Cisco Devices, RADIUS and AAA, SNMP Framework
Description: Declares agent capabilities for RADIUS authentication client functionality on Cisco AAA-enabled platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement describing which groups and objects of the standard RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-MIB a Cisco AAA-enabled device's SNMP agent supports. It contains no data objects of its own; it exists purely to declare conformance so network management tools know which RADIUS client-side authentication statistics and configuration objects are actually implemented. Consequently it plays no direct role in monitoring hardware or software runtime status; its function is compatibility/discovery, not measurement. It is entirely dependent on the IETF RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-MIB it profiles. It would typically be used by an NMS during onboarding of a Cisco router/switch to determine which RADIUS authentication client counters are safe to poll. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco router/switch (RADIUS AAA client)
Monitoring Examples
This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects of its own; it only declares which groups of RADIUS-AUTH-CLIENT-MIB the agent supports, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe beyond checking which groups are marked supported.
