Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for Priority Flow Control extensions on Cisco DCB/FCoE switching platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-PFC-EXT-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-PFC-EXT-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module declaring which extensions of the companion CISCO-PFC-EXT-MIB (Priority Flow Control extensions used in Data Center Bridging/FCoE environments) a given Cisco platform supports. It carries no runtime data, only conformance mappings consumed by management stations during MIB compilation. As a pure capabilities module it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; that belongs to CISCO-PFC-EXT-MIB itself. It is entirely dependent on CISCO-PFC-EXT-MIB (and the underlying IEEE 802.1Qbb PFC standard) for operational meaning. It is used in NMS tooling for Cisco DCB/FCoE switching platforms, where this CISCO-PFC-EXT-CAPABILITY MIB tells a management station which PFC extensions a given platform actually supports.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-PFC-EXT-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco DCB/FCoE switching platforms

Monitoring Examples

This module contains only AGENT-CAPABILITIES SUPPORTS statements referencing CISCO-PFC-EXT-MIB groups; there are no tables or scalars to poll. No monitoring scenario applies to this conformance-only module.
