cmVirtContextStorageType

Module: CISCO-MODULE-VIRTUALIZATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-MODULE-VIRTUALIZATION-MIB::cmVirtContextStorageType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.472.1.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: StorageType

Access: read-write

Description: The storage type for this conceptual row. Conceptual rows having the value 'permanent' need not allow write-access to any columnar objects in the row.

What is cmVirtContextStorageType?

This object records whether this virtual-context row's configuration is stored persistently across reboots, such as nonVolatile, or only transiently in memory, such as volatile, and per the description a row marked permanent need not even allow its columns to be edited. It matters because an admin troubleshooting why a virtual context configuration disappeared after a reload needs to check this value first; a volatile storage type row is expected to vanish on reboot by design, not due to a fault. Seeing volatile here on a production context that is supposed to survive reloads would point straight at a provisioning mistake rather than a hardware issue.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-MODULE-VIRTUALIZATION-MIB::cmVirtContextStorageType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.472.1.1.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-MODULE-VIRTUALIZATION-MIB::cmVirtContextStorageType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.472.1.1.1.1.5.1 s <value>
