cmVirtContextIfMapStorageType

Module: CISCO-MODULE-VIRTUALIZATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-MODULE-VIRTUALIZATION-MIB::cmVirtContextIfMapStorageType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.472.1.1.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: StorageType

Access: read-write

Description: The storage type for this conceptual row. Conceptual rows having the value 'permanent' need not allow write-access to any columnar objects in the row.

What is cmVirtContextIfMapStorageType?

This object is the identical StorageType convention applied to a row in the interface-to-virtual-context mapping table rather than the context table itself, indicating whether a given interface's assignment to a virtual context survives a reload. It matters because it tells an admin whether reassigning an interface to a different context via SNMP will persist or needs to be reapplied after every reboot. A permanent value here would mean that interface-to-context binding is locked in and its columns cannot be modified via SNMP at all, which explains an otherwise puzzling not-writable error when trying to move that interface to a different context.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.472.1.1.2.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-MODULE-VIRTUALIZATION-MIB::cmVirtContextIfMapStorageType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.472.1.1.2.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-MODULE-VIRTUALIZATION-MIB::cmVirtContextIfMapStorageType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.472.1.1.2.1.4.1 s <value>
